I saw the Wizard as an IC member (probably the Magus) who is kicked out of the IC by Dorothy's ascension, so he goes back to Omaha (the mundane world) and is revealed to be just a normal person, like me or you.

That's where you're wrong. Ozma was originally hidden from the usurping force in OZ and raised as a boy (Tip, IIRC), thus putting her on the path of the Mystic Hemaphrodite. Which goes on to explain why Judy Garland and the entire Oz mythos is associated with alternative sexualities.
