Isn't the Ritual of Light (from the PoMoMa introductory fiction) supposed to do something like this?

Anyway, my reaction is: I like it. A lot. The "pact between African tribes and the IC" isn't something that I'd wnt in my game (I really don't see the clergy making pacts with each other, much less with us puny mortals), but the concept of a loa being the ghost of an avatar/godwalker is just plain nifty.
