[UA] New artifact and ritual as an urban legend

Hello folks -

I've just subscribed (on Doug Stalker's advice) and people seem to be asking
after Liam Routt, upon whose recommendation I bought UA in the first
place...

Liam Routt has a website at <http://www.routt.net/Caligari/>; his Mythos
investigator card is a laugh. If somebody was trying to get in touch with
him and hasn't yet, you might find some contact info there.

Clive Barker is a particular interest of mine:

 >>>Apropos of that topic, I HIGHLY recommend you read Clive Barker's _Great
And Secret Show_ if you haven't already.<<<

"The Great and Secret Show" is quite notable for making the dead-letter
office seem like a place of occult potential. For that alone, it's UA
material.

Its sequel, "Everville", shows the struggle of an adept for ascension. As
which archetype, I couldn't be sure. There's a lot of ghosty stuff that a
clever GM might be able to adapt - for one main character, death only made
his life more interesting.

"Everville" is also a more engaging read than "The Great and Secret Show",
imo. Others by Clive Barker that I'd recommend are "Sacrament" and
"Galilee." For some reason Barker is a bit too "British" to fit into the
Underground as I imagine it; adpets in his books seem more independent. Most
of them could have a UA school built around them, though.

I'd almost consider "The Hellbound Heart" (and Hellraiser films) to be good
UA material, but the close look that they provide of the Other Side would
destroy the mystery of death in UA, imo. They're great inspiration for The
Whispering Vault, though.

 >>>Kissoon's "familiars" are up there with the Carnal in visceral ickiness,
too.<<<

I agree that a ritual to create Lix would be nice (?) to see. They show up
again in "Everville", and they're clearly an icky way to die.

Cheers,
