Actually, if anything, I'd say they might make him make more checks and get more notches. Conisder, again, the sorts of memories typically recovered (child abuse, UFOs or worse) and then claim that suddenly remembering your father brutally raping you isn't worth a few Violence, Slf and Helplessness checks. Even if the event never actually happened, you still believe it for long enough for it to damage your psyche.
