I would say that if a mechanomancer was foolish enough to try to 'recover'
lost memories, he'd get what many people get in that situation:  false
memories.  His are gone for good, not just forgotten.  They are edited out
of his brain.  He doesn't get take backs with then universe, no matter what
he thinks (and, considering how awful many 'recovered memories' are, the GM
could have a field day with that leather pencil case).  I think it's
already been mentioned, but the false memories would not give charges.
Whether false memories could get rid of failed notches caused by lost
memories is up to the GM.  I'd say no.  They may make him feel better, but
have no therapeutic effect.  The mechanomancer would have to face up to the
hole in his memories and the disturbing emotions surrounding it.  I don't
know how people who have lost memories due to trauma recover, but I imagine
it would be much like that.

I consider Scientology in all its forms to have a great big sign on it that
says "Nothing to see here, move along."   I've had DEVO stuff though.

BTW- What's the official word on false memories (recovered memories that
shrinks pull out of regression and mechanomancers.  Recovered memories play
a kinda big role in out currect game, and luckily there are no
mechanomancers yet) and mechanomancers.  Can a memory be recovered and
cause
a machine to fail?  Can false memories be sacrificed?  If so is it an
automatic failure, or do the machines get perverted in strange ways?
