Apparently tertiary stage syphilis also gnaws a hole
into the front of the sufferer's skull. A weird
thining of the bone occurs until the disease sorta
sandpapers a skin-covered hole into you head-bone.

Perhaps syphilis was a special symbiote given by the
gods to men so that their brains could escape their
heads and live independantly. Unfortuantely we are
just too wrong genetically and the advanced psychic
genetic surgery makes us mad and then kills us...
