I let the players skim through the main book when making characters - it
gave them a better idea of what was available, and they picked up just
enough knowledge that it will hurt them if they try using it to powergame.


My vision of the OU is where everyone tries to appears to know everything,
while in reality only knowing very little about things outside their
specific field.  They can know that there is magic based on sex, but unless
they join the cult of naked godess they aren't going to know all the
details.
