Can we expand this outside consumption? There is a magic in those perfect
moments. You have the Princess Bride's perfect kiss, and Lorne Greene, as
Commander Adama's Best Death *Ever* There's a bunch. Seems there oughta be some
way to suck the life out of them for a charge.
That would be it, wouldn't it? Now I'm thinking about the dad with a new
camcorder, so concientiously recording every moment with any perfection potential
that he wrecks it. No one remembers the emotional content of the moment. Like
remembering a photo of a scene, rather than the moment represented.
The crux of Momenturgy would be manipulating circumstances in order to evolve a
moment with high emotional content--one that the other participants will remember
as a turning point or apex in their lives--then engaging in an elaborate ritual
of recording the event, and manipulating it for a charge, sucking any of the
emotional luminescence from it forever. The producers of Survivor?
I'll work on this a little, too.
