What about Odomancy?  

It was posted by someone on this list a while ago, and
dealt with travel and routes the way Cliomancy deals
with static locations.  It seems to me to be the
school best linked to this sort of thing.  Perhaps
this would be all or part of the significant year-long
journey for a major charge, or perhaps they would be
more likely to know about the nature of the route
across the country.  

I know there is a campaign idea here, but I can't
think of the needed details offhand.
