I work on the principle that most adepts are sufficiently obsessed
with their own schools (or the power of magick in general) that they
are blissfully unaware of Avatarhood, the Clergy, and Archetypes in
general. Some of them may have had encounters with them, but don't
necessarily realise exactly what "it" was. I'm keeping avatars rare,
and many of those are unaware of their status or how they attained
it.

Of course, there are a select few that have had sufficient experience
of the OU to have figured things out, though their interpretations
and beliefs may well diverge somewhat from canon. More than half of
these are individuals with no occult power at all.

My players have read the core book, and I'm not diverging from canon,
but I trust them enough to keep their OOC knowledge separate.
Besides, they've probably misunderstood a lot of the aspects of it (I
had a huge problem trying to explain the Naked Goddess to them), so
I'm not worrying about it.
