[UA] Vampires: The Other White Meat

These are a lot of nifty ideas, but as they get niftier it seems to make
more and more sense just to not call them "vampires" at all.  People might
mistake them for vampires, just as they mistake the genetic joke vampires
from the book.

To throw a THIRD vampire into the mix, I'll tip you wise to a proposal I
made back when UA was young.  That was, if you recall, the year that
Pinnacle started doing crossovers in Deadlands -- "Adios A-Mi-Go" with CoC,
and some other thing with Wild West Werewolf.  So what I did was suggest a
V:tM/UA crossover to Justin Achilli.

The setup for the V:tM version is this: The vampire PCs get word that some
freaked out, crazy ghoul is going to try and force a vampire to embrace
him, and he's got the lore and the followers to do it.  Their mission is to
stop him.  The problem is, there's these occultists with these goofy-ass
ideas who've ALSO stumbled across the ghoul conspiracy.  They've gotten
MEDIA attention before, so it's critical to ice the ghoul AND provide these
fuckin' ghostbusters with something resembling a "rational explanation."

The setup for the UA version goes like this: Vampires aren't real in UA --
but they could be.  All it would take is someone Ascending as the archetype
of The Vampire.  So there's this crazy fucko LARP enthusiast who owns all
the White Wolf books.  He's got his thirteen followers who are going to
become the "antedeluvians" once he ascends as "Caine."  He's loony.  He's
living in the sewers, drinking only human blood -- and as a consequence his
skin has gotten all pale and his gums are receding, so he thinks he's on
the right track.  He just might make it happen, if the PCs don't stop him.
They've kidnapped the last male line descendent of Vlad the Impaler (who
happens to be a biological vampire) and they plan to sacrifice him and
drink his blood to work the trick.  "Caine" and his crew have no paranormal
powers, but they're clever, they're armed, they kill and drink blood and
the PCs are going to beard them in their den.  If they fail, maybe he
Ascends.
