More likely, he's been donating to both.  It's become fairly standard practice for rich folks and big corporations to donate to both major candidates, to hedge their bets.  And Able needs to have both possible candidates looking the other way as he has a gang of hired killers wander the country putting caps in the asses of various dukes.
