An eerie twist is that if the presidential election is not decided 
definitively by Jan. 20 then Dennis Hastert (House Majority Leader) becomes 
the temporary president. Should he decline the succession falls to Strom 
Thurmond as the president "pro-tem." Brrrr, chilleeee....
