In UA, as in most RPGs, there's a tendency to give everything a
"supernatural" explanation. I'd say the L.A. riots were simply what they
appeared to be: Lots of people got very pissed over a blatant injustice.
(In the forthcoming Sleepers book, there's a bit about how the Sleepers
believe THEY'RE the ones who enabled the great age of European empires by
clearing out the native magickal resistance. In fact, while the indigenous
peoples did have magick, it simply was no match for trains, guns, and
smallpox.)
