MECCA! That's where GenCon has been housed for the last Umpteen million
years. It's a big-assed convention center, connected to the local Arena
where rock concerts and sporting events are housed. On one occasion, I
jumped in a rapidly closing elevator door, and my 15-year old unwashed self
was face to face with rapper Kool Mo Dee, and two very "We Are Not Amused"
bodyguards. Imagine the terrorists want to make a statement by
assassinating some performer, and doing the work under the pretense of the
world's largest RPG convention. Hell, they could discuss the plans openly,
and no one would bat an eye.

Looking up some online resources, I can see now that what I call MECCA is no
more, replaced by the Midwest Express Center, which is slightly more huge-r,
but basically a block south. Everything is still connected by these
delightful human habitrails, guaranteeing that you can visit much of
downtown Milwaukee without actually stepping outside.

Then there's the Safe House, an Espionage themed bar, built before themed
bars were trendy. You need a secret password to get in without doing
something humiliating on closed circuit TV. The walls have various bits of
spy memorabilia. Maybe one of the exibits needs to disappear discreetly...
