I wrote that chapter.  (Blush.)  I'll give you a breakdown by topic.

-Cattle Mutiliation -- completely made up.

-Firewalking -- this is all true.

-Hoaxes -- obviously...

-Psychic Senses -- all true.

-Spontaneous combustion -- Half true.  The stuff about how fast a body can
burn is true.  The fungal explanation is totally fictional.

-UFOs -- 100% fabrication.

-Vampires -- Fabrication, but the stuff about limited lifespan being
programmed is true, as is the bit about extending lifespan in simple
organisms by DESTROYING genes.  So it's really pretty plausible, I think.

-Zombies -- The stuff about the toxin and the daturia are all true.
