[UA] Objects as Avatars?

This is one of those questions that gets raised periodically, it seems.  In canon UA, no, it wouldn't work to have an inanimate object be an avatar (see the description of Aura Sight for the fact that objects and places lack souls, and the Lycanthrope description for the fact that you need a soul to ascend, mix and serve chilled).  

If you want to modify it to some degree for your own campaign, more power to you.  More likely, I'd be saying that the Empire State building has a lot of symbolic power that could be used to add to someone's avatar skills, like a construction firm with their head office located there (which then adds to the head's symbolism regarding being an Avatar of the Architect, or Planner or whatever).
