In Syracuse, there was a crack in the ceiling of our bathroom so bad that
if the people above us didn't tuck in their shower curtain all the way,
water would drip right through their floor and collect in the overhead
light fixture.

That was the same place where the landlady told us "Well, according to your
lease you can't have a cat, but everyone else in your building does, so as
long as I don't find out about it..."
