Either he thinks the other guy is following a different type of cliomancy, fleshworking, or whatever, a slightly different (and obviously vastly inferior) take on the One Truth known by the adept, or he knows that other schools of magick exist, he's seen proof that they exist, and he just doesn't care. After all, if you're going to go up against the entire rest of the world in believing you can melt people's faces by cutting yourself, some guy who can make the landscape attack you by drinking a shot of whisky, or set your house on fire by dumping his girlfriend, or make people think you're a paedophile by visiting the Tower of London isn't going to be much of a barrier.
