I know I know...this was discussed not so long ago, but let me weigh
in with what I think is the best music for unsettling background
music while gaming: Juan Garcia Esquivel, the father of Space Age
Bachelor Pad music. Everything from cool far out jazz to a trio of
women "oinking" to the tune of jingle bells. He did music for the
A-Team, Simon & Simon, Magnum P.I., Buck Rogers in the 25th Century,
the Equalizer. Adam 12, Airwolf, Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's
Island, to name just a few. It can really mess with players to have
it on, very quietly, while a grisly scene takes place.
