Getting violently flung to the ground is very painful if you're not
prepared for it. Being shoved down isn't so bad -- you usually land on
your hands and either your butt (if pushed backwards) or your knees (if
forwards). But if you get picked up and slammed onto your back, generally
your head whipsaws back against the ground and your brain literally shakes
in your skull. It makes your vision get all black and fuzzy and you feel
kind of nauseous. It also gives you a killer headache.
