Hm... lessee...

Well, when I got a sudden, bad cut on my foot, I don't remember the actual
slicing feeling.  It wasn't a sharp pain as much as an intense soreness.
Also, it felt very cold.

Getting a round kick to the head doesn't immediately register as pain so
much as just startlement and a sense of impact.  (Although the guy who
booted me probably wasn't going full power.)  

The one guy I know who claimed to have been shot (in the arm) said it felt
like getting hit with a sledgehammer.  But he's not the most reliable
source.
