In this case perfect realism isn't required, since the players typically know as
much about the effect of serious wounds as you do.

The closest I've come to a serious wound was hitting my head on teh roof while
runing down stairs. I was watching where I put my feet, but neglected to take
into account the way the roof dropped over the landing providing a nice
right-angle of concrete for me to run into. There was a white flash, then I was
lying on my back thinking "damn my foot hurts." (I twisted it when I landed)
I then got up (helped by a friend) and went and lay down on a couch. Then the
shock hit and I started shaking heavily, I'm not sure how long for. This is
without any concussion or skull fracture, just a deep gash in my head and a
sprained ankle.

I now invite other list members to contribute their own personal injuries for
use in UA.
