ITEM! UA-seminal author James Ellroy is doing a free reading & signing in 
Seattle at UW's Kane Hall on February 24th at 7pm. Tickets are required, 
but they're also free--get 'em at the University Bookstore on University 
Way.

I presume he's promoting his new anthology, CRIME WAVE, which means he 
may well be popping up in other cities in the next couple months. Keep 
your peepers peeled! And remember where you heard it first--on the QT and
