I don't see a place for them in UA. UA is about humanity and the effect we have
on our environment, not the other way around. As it stands, I see faeries like
the other explained phenomena in the UA book. They make good red herrings, but
would ruin the feel of the game if included as real entities.

Any introduction of faeries drags alien forces into the game and makes it into
a CoC clone. Remember, the supernatural creatures in the UA book tend to blend
in with society. The supernatural can't afford to be showy or easily
recognized.
