That may also be a way to gain a significant charge: don't Dodge or try to
preserve your life when it's obvious (shotgun blast, hit by car, etc.) that you
could end up getting killed. No better way to explore Death than to edge just a
bit closer...

There's the ever-popular "Animate Dead" spell, as well as summoning/binding
demons. There's the "Siphon Life" effect, which steals years of life from other
people, except the number of sacrificed years is *always* subtracted from the
total number siphoned. There's always a spell to generate a wasting disease in the
target. There's sure to be a spell that grants its victim a vague but real-seeming
vision of his/her death.
