thanx!  i was just going to have them  (and acromancers...think BASE
jumping mages) as a fringe groups of 'mancers from various schools who get
an erotic charge from engaging in this activity and form them into a cabal.
 then i got to thinkin'...

i should clarify that by saying "...not being in control when behind the
wheel..."  basically, because autophiles view the act of driving an
automobile as a sacred and sexual form of power, not having that power is a
kind of impotence and drains their charges.  Losing charges when failing a
helplessness check is due to losing that feeling of being "master of one's
destiny" (ie: having the power to live...drive straight...or die...drive
into that oncoming semi).

well, i'm working on some background (characters, cabals and such) that
expands upon the 3 schools that i've written up (like a write-up on the
cathode ray mission run by a videomancer named sister transistor).  going
by dc's movies, the velomancers would have started (or at least appeared)
in toronto.  la is an excellent choice as well (crash seemed to have an
intential lack of setting).  keep your eyes on the road...
