>Books : A WILD SHEEP CHASE by Haruki Murikami.
Heh! I just bought a first edition of this for my library. Great book,
great writer. This and DANCE, DANCE, DANCE (the sequel) are a fun sort of
light-hearted take on the occult underground.

Haven't read that one, actually. I think the first Powers stuff I read
was ON STRANGER TIDES and DINNER AT DEVIANT'S PALACE, back in high school
or a little earlier. Dipsomancy just sort of erupted, derived from the
whole drunken writer cliche/archetype but not any source in particular
that I can recall.
On the other hand, I suspect Greg's conception for Plutomancy probably
had some origin in life as a freelance RPG writer! You quickly learn the
value of money, especially when it's not being paid on time, and soon
you're thinking of magickal revenge...

Passion and determination are two very different things. Passion
is born of need; determination is born of greed. Always assign
greater weight to passion, because mysteries are innocent.
