Of course, that raises the question "can you detect an ascension before it
happens?" Oh...and just because we know that killing Avatars won't stop
the End, doesn't mean the Twilight People do...

Mmm...very nice. Ok...
1%-50% The Avatar gains prophetic flashes of insight into "crisis points"
which will contribute to the Apocalypse. These may take the form of
dreams, visions, synchronicity messages etc. If the Avatar can locate the
crisis point and defuse the situation, the Apocalyse is put one step back.
Example: Bob the Savior of the World is scared about Y2K making all the
Russian nukes launch. He has a vision of a Russian bomb exploding in
Washington. This vision is somehow linked to a MacDonalds' in Alaska. Bob
investigates, and eventually discovers an ex-Russian army general selling
cheap nukes to terrorists....
51-75%: The Avatar may flipflop any roll undder his Avatar skill when
facing a crisis related to the Apocalypse.
Example: Bob's running from the True Order of Saint Germaine with a
Russian nuke in the back of his car. While driving through Miami, a jeep
starts ramming him and trying to knock him off the road. ToSG want their
nuke. Bob can flipflop any failed rolls that are less than his Avatar
skill of 70%. This comes in handy when the bomb starts ticking.
76%-90%: At this level, the Avatar is so in tune with the flow of the
world that he may percieve and alter the flow of decisions and events that
will lead to Apocalypse. The Avatar may use this channel in two ways.
Firstly, he can effect large changes over time. If the Avatar wants
something done by a large organisation, he can set up a kind of bias in
the universe towards his goal. Random chances align, undecided people
pick the Avatar's point of view. The Avatar may also use this ability on
individuals, where it works as a form of mind control.
Example: Bob the Savior of the World wants the Russian nuke-smuggling ring
gone. He uses the third channel to force the FBI into setting up an
investigation which will eventually bring them to discover the Russian
crime syndicate.
90%: At this level, the Avatar is so in tune with the statosphere he may
predict ascensions. He will know when an ascension is coming (he gets
between a year and 5 seconds notice.). He may use this channel to find out
EITHER where the ascenion will take place OR what Archetype is forming. He
may NOT use this to find out both...
