[TRNSYS-users] Modifying component

Mohamed,

  The source code not only needs to be edited but then needs to be 
recompiled into a dll. If you are using Trnsys18 then you could take 
Type1231, modify its source code (including giving it a new Type number) 
and recompile it using the TypeStudio. You'd then need to copy the 
Type1231 proformas and edit them as well so that they refer to the new 
Type number. The reason you have to give it a new Type number is that 
when you'll have to compile the Type into its own dll; you can't patch 
it into the existing TESS HVAC library dll. If you leave the number 
unchanged then TRNSYS is going to find two instances of Type1231 in dlls 
and will load the first one that it finds, not necessarily your version.
