Hello Trnsys Users


In the description of the battery(Type-47a), it is written that ''This model of a lead-acid storage battery operates in conjunction with solar cell array and power conditioning components.  It specifies how the battery state of charge varies over time, given the rate of charge or discharge. This proforma corresponds to Mode 1, based on a simple energy balance of the battery. The power is simply taken as input. This model does not calculate nor output any values of current or voltage.'' It seems that the component type-47a is developed based on the charging/discharge rate of lead-acid battery, usually, it is low. From the simulation, I experienced that the error percentage in Energy Balance increases when increasing the charging/discharging rate. I also read the Trnsys forum, there it is mentioned that the Type-47a is not suitable for lithium-ion battery, but it was written many years before.


Please explain, whether the type47a is suitable to do the function of a lithium-ion battery. If not, please suggest a suitable component type for that.
