Dear Weihua,
the "Thermo-active Building Elements" model can be used for internal and external walls but its restrictions (see manual) have to be fulfilled.
Best
Jakob

Betreff: [TRNSYS-users] ask for help
Dear sir!
I am trying to use the MultizoneBuilding model to do some work. Now I have some question about the "Thermo-active Building Elements" model in TRNBUILD. I look for help in the manuscript, which says that "Thermo-active building elements (slabs or walls of a building) are used to condition buildings by integrating a fluid system into massive parts of the building itself. Examples are radiant floor heat or cooling systems, radiant ceilings or wall heating or cooling systems." My question is that the "wall" mentioned above refers to the external walls or the internal walls of a building? I want to do a calculation of a external wall embedded with cooling pipes by using the "thermo-active building elements" model in TRNBUILD, is that ok?
It would be appreciate to receive your kindly response.
Thank you.
Yours
Weihua Lv
