Stephanie,

   Yes, it is possible and there is nothing special that you need to do. 
When the heat pump is in "heating" mode then its load side will be 
heated and the source side will be cooled. A ground source heat pump is 
usually one that has air on the load side and water on the source side. 
The "heating" and "cooling" describes what happens on the load side. 
However, the opposite always happens on the source side.
