Meer,
   in Energy Rage Control Type56 is computing the zone loads on the HVAC 
system. If you want a /very/ rough idea of the energy use of the 
building you can simply multiply those loads by an average COP or 
efficiency. A better method is to impose those loads on a model of the 
HVAC system either by selecting energy rate control HVAC system 
components that take load as an input (there are relatively few of 
these) or by imposing the load on the water or air loop in the building 
using Type682 or Type693 in the TESS Loads and Structures library.
