[TRNSYS-users] how to set three input temperatures in a single building type

Qi,
As I said in my email to you a few days ago, you can define multiple
groups of zones in Type56 that have nothing to do with each other
thermally. So while it is true that you can only have one instance of
Type56 in your simulation, that Type56 can be used to simulate how ever
many separate buildings (or parts of buildings) that you want.
As far as defining more than one soil temperature, you simply need to
define new ground temperature inputs for the BOUNDARY temperature in
each section of the building. Defining non-standard inputs to Type56 is
an important, basic operation when working with this model. It would be
wise, I think, to study a few of the examples that use Type56 and to
look carefully through the 05-MultizoneBuilding manual (particularly the
first part that focuses on the use of TRNBuild). You may also benefit
from going through the "temperature level control from energy rate
control" tutorial that is available from
http://sel.me.wisc.edu/trnsys/downloads/tutorials_and_examples/tutex17.htm.
While the tutorial does not directly deal with setting boundary
temperatures, it does show how to manage Type56's inputs and outputs;
something you will need to do as well.
Regards,
David
