Lukas,
The method that I usually use is to go into the .\Trnsys17\Tess
Models\PlugIns\ directory and copy the *.dat file (Type534.dat for
example) that I want to use. I then paste the copy into the project
directory: .\Trnsys17\My Projects\Project1\Type534.dat. When I drag out
the Type534 proforma in my simulation, I open it and go to the External
Files tab and make sure to write the entire path: c:\Trnsys17\My
Projects\Project1\Type534.dat in the field. You are correct that the
parameters get overwritten based on what you enter in the plugin but if
I understand correctly, your runtime error occurs when you try to launch
the plugin, correct?
Best,
  David
