Alasdair,
Are you getting the "component load failed" message when you try to
drag an instance of Type230 out into your Assembly Panel or when you try
to run the simulation? When I try to duplicate your steps, I get the
"component load failed" message when I try to add Type230 to the
project. The reason for that is that Type230's proforma was created with
Trnsys17 and so is not backward compatible with Trnsys16. Type230 itself
(the DLLs and the source code) both look to me as though they will work
in v16 as well as in v17 so you could open the source code and determine
what the parameters, inputs, and outputs of the model are, then create a
proforma for Trnsys16.
Best,
  David
