Dear Sunliang,

Inside the frame of PEBBLE project (http://www.pebble-fp7.eu/) different building BMS have been connected to three different thermal simulation softwares in order to optimize the buildings energy consumption and the internal comfort parameters by an automatic control of building actuators.

Trnsys 17 is the software used in our building with the collaboration of Technical University of Crete (TUC) and the Institute of Thermal Engineering of Graz University of Technology (TUGraz)

If you need more information, please feel free to contact us directly or the other project partners involved.

Best Regards

Sunliang,
I saw this done once as a demonstration at Johnson Controls (www.jci.com) but I do not know if the work was ever written up. The process of connecting a TRNSYS simulation to actual equipment is not standard practice and I do not know of any publications on the subject. In the case that I saw, the simulation/emulation was run from TRNSYS. The researchers had constructed circuitry that had some digital I/O ports and an analog to digital converter. A building was simulated in TRNSYS as was the controller the controller component commanded real world equipment ( a fairly simple small residential air handler in this case). The TRNSYS control signals were passed to the digital I/O ports and analog signals from sensors in the equipment came back into the TRNSYS simulation through the analog to digital converter. I'm afraid I do not recall more; as I mentioned, this was all very customized and not something that could very well be laid out as instructions to follow.
Regards,
 David

Dear all,

Is there any tutorial or guide about the EMULATOR System with TRNSYS (Be better with TRNSYS 17).

Emulator system is arranged in a way that part of the system is real (eg. ground source heat pump), and part of the system is simulated by computor (eg, Building part simulated by TRNSYS 17). There will be I/O interface and communication software between the real system and computor.

I hope that there will be some guide or tutorial about the installation, I/O intrerface, communication software, clock arrangement of EMULATOR system with TRNSYS 17.

Thank you very much.

Kind Regards,
Sunliang Cao
