[TRNSYS-users] Anticipating consumption by loading storage tank beforehand

Janne,
I think the problem you are facing would be a challenge to an actual
system, not just to your simulation of the system. Fundamentally the
real and simulated systems would have to know what the electricity cost
is and this information would have to be part of the heat pump's
sequence of controls. The simplest way to approach the time of use
electricity rates is with a Type14 forcing function. The result of that
forcing function would be combined with the result of a tank thermostat
using an equation so that the heat pump heats (or cools) the tank only
when the thermostat says to AND when the electricity is cheap enough. Of
course there are probably times when such a control strategy will fail
because really there isn't a way of knowing ahead of time what the load
will be either in the simulation or in the real world.
best,
  David

How could i control the heat pump so that it would load storage tank, if it is needed, before pumps schedule says they shoul be off?

It seems that all my attempts to control the heat pump causes it to stay ON the whole time schedule allows it to be ON or that control does not affect anything...
