[TRNSYS-users] Using TRNEdit and *.bui

Ehsan,
    There is a way of accomplishing this.

*1. create a new *.bui file for each parametric run that you want to do 
each one varying whatever parameter(s) you want.*

*2. replace the line in your input file that assigns an integer logical 
unit number to the *.bui file with a series of them, each having a 
different value. For example, if the line in the input file is:*

ASSIGN c:\Trnsys17\MyProjects\EhsanBuilding\building.bui    31

then you might replace that line with:

ASSIGN c:\Trnsys17\MyProjects\EhsanBuilding\building_option1.bui    31
ASSIGN c:\Trnsys17\MyProjects\EhsanBuilding\building_option2.bui    32
ASSIGN c:\Trnsys17\MyProjects\EhsanBuilding\building_option3.bui    33
ASSIGN c:\Trnsys17\MyProjects\EhsanBuilding\building_option4.bui    34
ASSIGN c:\Trnsys17\MyProjects\EhsanBuilding\building_option5.bui    35
ASSIGN c:\Trnsys17\MyProjects\EhsanBuilding\building_option6.bui    36

*3.  Define the following equation:*

CONSTANTS 1
LU_bui = 31

*4. Change the first parameter of Type56 from:*

31        ! 1 Logical unit for building description file (.bui)

to

LU_bui        ! 1 Logical unit for building description file (.bui)

*5. finally, select LU_bui as your variable to change from one 
parametric run to the next and enter the values 31 through 36 in the 
parametric table.*

As a side note, this is a way of running the same system for a lot of 
different weather files in a parametric table too!
