[TRNSYS-users] Radiation processor Type 16 problem

Thank you Dear Sebastien,
In the meantime, I also encountered the impact of the starting day parameter. In the TRNSYS documentation, it is adviced to use an equation giving the value STARDAY for the starting day parameter calculated on the simulation start time.
But for me, it seems like this calculation leeds to an misunderstanding.
For example, I want to make a simulation from 3936 hours to 4104.
The Starting day calculated is then 164. And, looking at the results, I then find that the radiation processor was doing like if it was in winter, like if the simulation began not at the timestep 3936 (14 of June) but the timestep 3936 + 24*164 = 7872 (end of November).
So for me, the good use is to always let the parameter starting day at 1 and just change the simulation start time and stop time. And it works for me. The results looks good, using the real latitude of the location.
Hope it will help.

Dear Laurent,

I already encountered this kind of issue. It is due to the uncorrect handling of latitude in type 16g in TRNSYS17 (there was no problem in TRNSYS16). You should put the opposite of your place latitude in the parameters of type 16g. Yes, it is a really strange error!

Dear trnsys users,
I'm using Type 16 in a quite simple way.
I only make the following simulations : the first all over the year (0 to 8760) and the second only on a period (one week in June). And I look at the horizontal total radiation and the total radiation on a vertical slope facing south.
The results I obtain are surprising : everything goes right with the first simulation, i mean that the period of time during which a radiation is calculated is ok (approximately 9-10 hours during winter and spring to 15 hours during summer).
But in the second simulation (in June), i only have 10 hours of radiation. More, the total radiation on a vertical slope facing south is very high.
It seems like type 16 is always thinking the simulation is running during January. I have changed the starting simulation day time in Type 16.
Can someone help me ?
Thanks in adavance.
