[TRNSYS-users] Solar thermal collectors

Lee,
No, the collector is a fixed surface based on the value of parameter
7 in Type109. Please note that in the more recent versions of TRNSYS,
Type109 has been replaced by Type15. The collector model takes into
account "incidence angle modifiers." That is to say that the optical
properties of the collector cover change depending on the direction of
the beam radiation. You therefore pass the incidence angle and the
collector slope from the weather reading processing component to the
solar collector component.
Just to be sure that there isn't an error in the example that you are
looking at, the Type109 output "angle of incidence for surface" is
connected to the collector input "incidence angle" and the Type109
output "slope of surface" is connected to the solar collector input
"collector slope"
Kind regards,
  David
