[TRNSYS-users] save the Animation file of TRNSYS3d

Dear Wang,

I always use the Freeware-Tool „HyperCam” to create a movie (like a Screenshot).
Therefore I run the Animation in SketchUp and record it.
The DVI-file can be implemented in PowerPoint.

You can download HyperCam here:

Dear all,

how to save the Animation file of TRNSYS3d that I made? And how to show or play it in Powerpoint or not in SKETCHUP system? I want to show the finished Animation file of TRNSYS3d in Powerpoint to other people etc..

Many thanks!

Dear Muhammad Waseem,

I just briefly looked at your *.log file and saw something that I would strongly suggest changing, "C:\Trnsys17\Trnsys16\Tess Models\SampleCatalogData". It seems that you installed TRNSYS17 with your TRNSYS16 directory? Furthermore, you are referencing the old TESS Libraries 2.04 external DLL's and not the new 17.01 TESS Libraries? Thus, I am going to strongly recommend that you cleanly install TRNSYS 17.00.0019 and the TESS Libraries 17.01 in a brand new directory to avoid any confusion, and that create and simulate your system with the new and improved components. If you have any problems, please contact your local TRNSYS Distributor (which I believe is us, TESS, techsupport at tess-inc.com<mailto:techsupport at tess-inc.com>).

Best regards,

Matt Duffy

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Error 427

Hi,
I am trying to Simulate a heat pump assisted solar system but I am getting error 427. I dont know how to figure it out. Could you please help me out. Attached ! with this email are my project files. Also previously I was not getting any flow through out my system (Any idea), I dont know what will happen after figuring this error out? Last thing is there any other way I can Simulate heat pump without having manufacture's data?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Kindest Regards

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Compyling with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 on Windows 7
Dear All,

has anyone compiled a TRNSYS Type with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 on Windows 7 and Intel Visual Fortran 2010 (using TRNSYS17)?
I face many problems with trying so (modifying Type 551 in special)...

One question is, what .exe file do I have to specify in the TRNSYS Settings- Directories for "Fortran Environment"?
Standard setting should be :C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\MSDEV98\BIN\dfdev.exe I guess...
But for MS VS 2010 I can not find the dfdev.exe file.
The C++ environment path should change as well then I guess, right?

and what about the compiler command "msdev.exe" ? What should I use here?

Up to what I've read till now it makes sense to use a windows XP machine and Compaqu Visual fortran 6.6B.
Then the compiling should be pretty straight forward.
Can someone confirm that, or give any advice?

I am currently reading into "language W" and "W editor" from CSTB as well to check wether this would do the job.

Would be great to get some input from the experience users out there!!

Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Best,
Philip

Dear Simge,

Section 5.4.1.6. of the documentation goes into detail about the long wave
radiation exchange. There was also a paper at BS2009.

Subject:[TRNSYS-users] TRNSYS models for longwave radiation exchange
withina zone

Dear TRNSYS users,

I am trying to understand the differences between the three radiation
models listed under "Longwave radiation exchange within a zone" in
"Radiation Modes of Thermal Zone" feature of TRNBuild. These models
are:

1) Standard model (starnet model)
2) Simple model (one node model with combined heat transfer coeff.)
3) Detailed model (based on view factors)

The manuals do not refer to these radiation models using the exact
names listed in TRNBuild; therefore I am feeling difficulty
understanding which of the three models is actually being discussed.
Could you please briefly explain the primary differences between the
calculations of these radiation models? I would also appreciate it
very much if you could direct me to the specific sections of the
manual (or to the related papers/thesis) that I should read to learn
more about each model.

Thanks in advance,
Best,
Simge Andolsun

Dear Augustin,

Yes, there is a better component. Type668 evolved into Type927 (single stage) and Type1221 (two stage). These components have normalized data files, so you can scale the capacity/power accordingly. These components are in the TESS Libraries 17.

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Water-to-Water Thermofrigopump - Type 668
Hi everyone,

I am trying to model a "thermofrigopump", to obtain b! oth cooling and heating gains through a device.
After calculating the most important demand between heating and cooling demands, the idea is to generate heat if heating demands is higher (or to cool the fluid in the other case) and to use either the annex cold production or the annex heat production for others uses. So that I need a heat pump system which calculates both heat and cool power.
I was thinking to use Type 668 to model that. Is their a better Type to do that and is that relevant?

Thank's in advance for helping me, and sorry for the english mistakes..

Dear Peter,

To the best of my knowledge, I believe there was an update to that DLL (in
the ".\EXE\DLLs\Type155" directory) for TRNSYS version 17.00.0018. Please
note that the current version is 17.00.0019, so please email your TRNSYS
distributor to obtain the latest.

Subject:[TRNSYS-users] Coupling error: MATLAB R2009b with TRNSYS 17.00.0016

Hi,

I have a question about the coupling of MATLAB R2009b (32-bit) with TRNSYS
17.

I tried testing the link between the two with the "Calling Matlab" example
found in
the folder "Trnsys17\Examples\Calling_Matlab".

According to the instructions I must ensure that the MATLAB folder in the
Windows
Search Path is, I did this through Configuration Panel -> System ->
Advanced System
Settings -> Advanced -> Environment Variables adding the text "C:\Program
Files\MATLAB\R2009b\bin\win32 " to System Variable "Path".
Next, I ensured that I use for the specific Type155.dll MATLAB version. I
did this
through extracting the DLL in the zip file "Trnsys17\EXE\DLLs\Type155
(forMatlab2009b)-CVF.zip" to "Trnsys17\Exe" and the overwriting the old
Type155.dll
(for MATLAB R2006). According to the description this would be sufficient.

To be sure I also copied the files libeng.lib, libmat.lib, and libmex.lib
libmx.lib
from "C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2009b\external\lib\win32\microsoft" to
"C:\Trnsys17\SourceCode\Optional".

However, I continue to the error "One error was found in the deck. Check
the listing
file for more information!" get. When I look in the log, I find a fatal
error with
description "Your input file uses Type 155 (Calling Matlab). "Type155.dll"
was found
but could not be loaded. Please make sure that a supported version of
Matlab is
installed and that Matlab's "bin\win32" folder is on Windows' search path".

Now I searched the internet for a solution, and I came across something about
recompiling TRNSYS with the Compaq Visual Fortran Compiler:
http://sel.me.wisc.edu/trnsys/trnlib/trnsys-matlab/type155-manual.html
This explanation, however, is based on TRNSYS 15 and I am not sure if it's
needed
for TRNSYS 17.

Could someone tell me the proper way to link MATLAB & TRNSYS for the
versions
mentioned in the subject?

Thanks in advance,

Hello everybody,

As mentioned in my message topic, I'm using the type 77 which models the ground temperature.
However, when I try to simulate with this type I get this following error :

Error : TRNSYS Message 105 : A TYPE was called in the TRNSYS input file but was either not linked into trndll.dll or was not found in an external dll. A dummy subroutine was called in its place. Please link the TYPE or remove it from the input file Reported information : Not available
