[TRNSYS-users] simulation of an air to soil exchanger

Aziz,
The first time I used Type460, I had a really hard time setting up
the data file. I'll send you an example file in a separate email but
what I did and what I would recommend is that you enter the data file
that is shown in the documentation for Type460 and go carefully through
the explanations of all the data elements in the file (also explained in
the document). the structure of the data file is that you first set up
all of the nodes and node sizes. Next, you describe the geometry of the
earth/air energy exchanger using 1's and 0's. Lastly, you enter the
physical data.

While the parameter file must be generated by hand, the control file
is generated by the component when you run a simulation and will tell
you about any errors that you made in setting up the parameter file.

I am not sure what Type61 is in this case. If it is the standard
component that calls an external DLL then no, you do not need it. Simply
place the Type460.dll file in your ..\Trnsys17\UserLib\ReleaseDLLs\
directory. (or ..\Trnsys16\UserLib\ReleaseDLLs\).
Regards,
  David
