[TRNSYS-users] Using TRNSED application

Thanks for the answer.

A command line would be good.

I made some tests using the “Execute” functionality of Windows with a simple distributable TRNSED application running on a computer where TRNSYS is not installed.

First, an error happens if I use “TRNExe.exe” so I replaced it with the “APPLICATION_NAME.exe” (command line : “PATH\ APPLICATION_NAME.exe” “PATH\APPLICATION_NAME.trd”) and it worked.

Then, I didn’t notice any difference between the execution with and without the option “/h”. The window “About TRNEdit” still appears, it requires a click on “OK”, then the user has to launch the calculation,…

I’m using TRNSYS 16, does TRNSYS 17 improves this functionality ?

Best regards,

Benjamin,

If you are referring to a command line, please see the following as an example.

"c:\Trnsys17\Exe\TRNExe.exe" "C:\Trnsys17\Examples\TRNSED\SDHW-TRNSED.trd" /h

Note: the /h will allow TRNSYS to run in the background oppose to /n which will prompt the TRNExe.exe windows.

Best regards,

Matt Duffy

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Using TRNSED application

Hi,

I would like to know if the there is a way to command TRNSED applications with an external “home-made” application.

I think it will be easy to launch the executable but then the user has to make many operations until he gets the final result of the simulation even if there is no parameter to enter in the TRNSED application (a window opens, the user has to press “OK”, he has to launch the calculation (press F8 or click on “Calculate”), validate at the end of the calculation,…).

I would like to automate it and run it in the background so that the user doesn’t interact with it.

Can somebody help ?

Regards,
