[TRNSYS-users] problem using trnedit: win-x64

Dear TRNSYS users,

I'm having a problem using trnedit to run parametric variations:

each time I try I get an access violation error: "Access violation at address 00409232 in module 'TRNEdit.exe'. Read of address 0059FF7F

I have seen earlier posts about this and I have been using this function for a very long time on my laptop. Thus, I am aware of the fact that trnedit is picky about making sure the *.dck file is closed and that the file names and paths need to be short (otherwise similar errors could occur). The only difference I can see is that I am running on a newer 64 bit machine with windows x64. 

Has anyone experienced this problem and more importantly any fixes? as far as I can tell the installation seems to work properly...
