Hello Trnsys users,
I'm working on a model that aims to simulate an indoor pool during
winter and outdoor pool during summer. Currently, I have separate
indoor/outdoor models and am looking at their applicable results on
basically a mutually exclusive basis, but would prefer to incorporate
the yearly operation into a single simulation.
I have the basics in place for the winter/indoor pool using a
convertible greenhouse-type envelope whose glazing ID# is dependent upon
the season indicator with an input in the window typemanager. This is
functioning properly it appears as suggested in my plotting of solar
gain on the slab-on-grade & water surface, as it abruptly increases when
the glazing ID is changed to 10001 (or "no glazing - open"), and
conversely. For all practical purposes, I believe this makes the
building disappear as most surfaces are defined as windows in this way.
Problem is, the component type is the "indoor" or type344a, so the water
surface still thinks it is an indoor pool (with an invisible building
envelope) regardless of the time of year. Anyone at Transsolar who
developed these models (or others) considered the possibility of using
both the indoor and outdoor pool models during the simulation of one
pool? First guess is that it might involve outputting data from the
last time step of the indoor pool model to a file, reading that into the
outdoor pool at X timestep, then back to the indoor pool later in the
year. Is there a more sensible approach?
Also, to this end, I am not sure how to approach the Hour of the
relevant yearly weather data file and keeping it synchronized with the
Hour at which the simulation would switch from indoor, to outdoor, then
back to indoor again.
