Dear Andreas and TRNSYS Community,

I have a few suggestions that may be helpful. I apologize if you have already heard some of them before. The following is the tentative TESS TRNSYS Training outlook for 2010. I will also share a few tips to get comfortable with TRNSYS below.


February 2010: 3 Day TRNSYS Training with Optional 4th day of TRNSYS-CONTAM in Madison, WI, USA

May 2010: 1 Day TRNSYS Workshop at eSim 2010 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

June 2010: 3 Day TRNSYS Training with Optional 4th day of TRNSYS-CONTAM in Madison, WI, USA

August 2010 1 Day TRNSYS Training at SimBuild 2010 in New York, NY, USA

September 2010: 3 Day TRNSYS Training with Optional 4th day of TRNSYS-CONTAM in Madison, WI, USA



Please visit www.tess-inc.com for more information. All of these training events will be presented with the new version 17.0 of TRNSYS. A limited version of the software will be provided for those who do not have it. All of these events are in English. CSTB (France), Aiguasol (Spain), and Transsolar (Germany) also host TRNSYS Training events throughout the year in the local language. Please visit their websites fore more information.

TIPS FOR GETTING FAMILIAR WITH TRNSYS



Go through the provided TRNSYS examples (.\Examples) and the
provided TESS Libs. examples (.\Tess Models\Studio Projects...). Look at how
the outputs are connected to the inputs of another component, alter parameters,
"watch" different outputs with the Type65 online plotter. Reference
the TRNSYS documentation - there is a lot of information about the components
(Volume 5) and many more. Join the TRNSYS Users list (
https://www-old.cae.wisc.edu/mailman/listinfo/trnsys-users ) to keep in touch
with the TRNSYS community. The old emails from the list are also archived which
help immensely for searching for particular subjects or components. Make sure
you know how to access errors (result file icon on lower left of Simulaiton
Studio, *.log file, and/or *.lst file). There are also a few tutorials at the following site including a great one for buildings, "Temperature Level Control from Energy Rate Control."
