Artemi,
It sounds to me as though you are on the correct track. A very similar
technique is used by the multi-zone slab-on-grade model that will be
released with Trnsys17, by the various ground coupling components in the
TESS Libraries (including a multi-zone basement). The same technique is
also used in a phase change material (PCM) wall component that was
developed at the Institute of Thermal Engineering at the University of
