[TRNSYS-users] Buffer in a CSHPSS ?

Dear users (and especially members of ITW Stuttagrt),

 

During my Litterature study, i found hydraulic schemes for the CSHPSS in
Friedrichshafen, Hamburg, Hannover, or Steinfurt, where the plants does
NOT present a Buffer store. The documents tend to say that water goes
from one Heat Exchanger (XH) to the other, and what is not needed for
the demand is sent to the Seasonal Storage. As the documents on the
Internet don't offer too much information on the Regulation of the
plants, I thought that the valves open and close as water is heated by
the sun. So the regulation has to be very complex and tidy (strict).

 

But, i later found another document from ITW, displaying mixing-bottles
(or buffer-bottles) between the HXs and the Seasonal storage (see second
attached picture). Are these bottles always and necessarily present,
especially in the plants in Friedrichshafen, Hamburg, Hannover, Chemnitz
and Steinfurt ?
